Carroll cross country girls stick together, win Southeast InvitationalPublished by
The Bishop Carroll girls cross country team does not have a front runner this season, and they believe that actually strengthens them. The line of thinking is that without a runner out front, Carroll’s pack gains more inspiration by knowing it has five runners all together and the team score depends on them. In larger races, such as Saturday’s Southeast Invitational, this approach can sometimes be difficult to overcome for teams with top runners. Take Maize, for example. The Eagles had the top two finishers Saturday, as Deidra Walker and Kate Utech scorched the 4-kilometer course at Cessna Activity Center to break the 15-minute barrier.
