The exit of the four seniors who revived the North cross country team this past season was supposed to leave the Redskins in a transition. Instead, the boys team has remained competitive and senior Ricardo Banuelos has earned a spot as one of the top runners in Class 6A. But what has kept North cross country relevant even more has been the emergence of the girls team, which commands attention after tying Manhattan, the fourth-ranked team in 6A, for second place at the Junction City Invitational last Saturday.
