Baker Men s Cross Country Takes 31st at National Meet

LAWRENCE, Kan. On a seasonably warm and misty afternoon, the Baker University men's cross country team finished in 31st place out of 36 teams at the 2014 NAIA Cross Country National Championship meet at Rim Rock Farm.

Baker's Rachel Ash also competed in the women's cross country meet and finished in 170th in a time of 19:52 in the 5K race.

Jamie Steury ran the fastest 8K time of any Wildcat in a time of 27:16 and finished in 202nd place.

Also competing for Baker was Gunnar Hayes who took home 227th place and Corey Matteson was just behind him in 229th place in a time of 27:31. Eduardo Esquivel also competed on Saturday with a 239 finish and Joe Linder took home 299th in a time of 29:17.

In his final race in a Baker uniform, senior Vincent Tadokoro was 283 in a time of 28:46.

Wrapping up the day for Baker was Carter Breithaupt who finished in 311th place in a time of 31:08.
