The 40th annual invitational hosts 12 Division I schools including four from the Big 12 in the Wildcats, Iowa State, Kansas and Oklahoma State.

Jones, who took first in the pentathlon with a PR of 4,402 points, set multiple school pentathlon records, as well as the Anschutz Sports Pavilion facility record in the multi-event.

The jump marks a one spot improvement from last week, as the Wildcat women sit less than a point outside of the national top-10.

The Wildcat women finished fourth (79.50) and the men placed fifth (59) in a scored meet that pitted 10 Division I schools against each other.

Akela Jones and Reinis Kregers excelled in day two of the Jayhawk Classic, both notching personal bests en route to victories in the pentathlon and heptathlon, respectively.

K-State starts action in Lawrence on Jan. 29 with the men's heptathlon, concluding the weekend in Albuquerque at the NM team Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 31.
