Nothing like a tough week to get a team ready as the postseason approaches.

Looking for a challenge as the calendar turned to October, Andover Central’s cross country team found it by running two races in three days last week. A Thursday run at the Winfield Invitational came before Saturday’s Newton Invitational, and the Jaguar girls responded by grabbing the team title at both events.

“We kind of changed up our schedule a little bit leading up to that,” Andover Central coach Kevin Wiebe said. “We knew what we were going into, so we just treated it like one of our hard workout days.”
