Class 6A • The City League dominated sprints in 2012, with Wichita Southeast’s Steven Calloway winning the 200 and the 400. Wichita Heights’ Skylarr Gatson won the 100, and five other CL sprinters placed in the top eight. This season, Wichita Northwest’s Deron Thompson has 6A’s top time in the 100 at 10.6, while Wichita East’s Calil Burnett is right behind him at 10.7. Wichita South’s Davontae Harris and Northwest’s Chris Hughes are also in the top nine at 10.8 and 10.9. Topeka’s Duke Tibbs has the top times in the 200 and the 400. • Garden City’s Jonathan Duvall has the state’s top time in the 110 hurdles, going 14.07, which ranks 17th in Kansas history. He also has 6A’s top time in the 300 hurdles at 39.14. Hutchinson’s Jared Page, finished second to Duvall at the Dodge City regional and has the second-best time in the 300 hurdles in 6A.
