[Women's Outdoor Track & Field] Vailas Named KCAC Track Athlete of the WeekPublished by
Falcon freshman sprinter Angie Vailas (Wichita, Kan..) was named the KCAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Butch Reynolds Invitational hosted by Butler County Community College last weekend as announced by the conference office Monday. Vailas placed 1st in the 100m dash with a time of 12.15 and 3rd in the 200m dash at 25.28. Her 100m time hit the NAIA's 'B' qualifying standard for nationals, and her 200m time is just 0.16 seconds from it. The 200m time is the best in the KCAC by almost a full second so far this season. Vailas made it to nationals during the indoor season in the 60m dash, barely missing All-American status with a 9th place finish. Click here to read the full conference release.
