Canien Burnett is used to being identified as the little brother of Calil Burnett, a standout sprinter on the East track and field team.

Calil, a junior, showed he is worthy of the hype by delivering electrifying performances on the track on a chilly and drizzling Friday night at Northwest, claiming the City League title in the 100-meter dash in 10.94 seconds and anchoring a stunning comeback to give East the title in the 400 relay over Heights in 43.36.

But he wasn’t the only Burnett to go home a City League champion. Canien, a sophomore, won the league championship in the high jump after clearing 6-foot-2.
