Men s Track Earns Four NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards

Sheldon Farrell was named one of four Wildcats as NAIA Scholar-Athletes

GULF SHORES, Ala. The Baker University men's track and field team was honored with four 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Track and Field Scholar-Athlete awards, announced this week at the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.

The four 'Cats to earn the honor were, senior Cooper Clark, senior Sheldon Farrell, junior Ulrich Johanning and senior Chris Sipe.

Concordia (Neb.) leads all institutions with 18 individuals on the list. Nebraska Wesleyan and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) are tied for the second most with 10 each.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
