City League cross country: East girls, Carroll boys run to titlesPublished by
East’s girls cross country team ended a 28-year drought on Saturday morning at the Cessna Activity Center, winning the City League team title for the first time since 1988. “It’s been a long time for us,” East coach Darham Rogers said. “Every year we’re like second or third, so it feels good to finally get over that hump and get the title.” The Blue Aces had five runners finish in the top 10, including a second-place performance from junior Emilee Endsley (19:58). Her sister, McKenzie, was fourth (20:33), Cammy Hill (sixth, 20:59), Leyni Gomez (eighth, 21:09) and Dara Boynton (10th, 21:14) rounded out the East scores.
