[Track and Field] Vailas Named KCAC Track Athlete of the Week for Third TimePublished by
Angie Vailas (Fr., Wichita, Kan.) was named the KCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.This is the second straight and third overall time that Vailas has won the award, given out just five times so far in the outdoor season. At the KT Woodman Classic on the campus of Wichita State University Saturday, Vailas ran the 100m dash in a time of 11.87 seconds to finish 5th out of 66 competitors. She ran the 200m dash in 25.31 seconds, just off her season best of 25.28. Both of those times are #1 in the KCAC this season, and her 100m time is #7 in the NAIA. Vailas also was a member of the 4X100 relay team that ran a 48.37 for their best time of the year, a mark that is #2 in the KCAC.
