Esquivel opened his collegiate career in fine fashion, capturing 2nd place at the Maple Leaf Invitational. The freshman from Las Vegas, Nev., posted a time of 16:03 over the 5K course at the Baldwin City Golf Course to help the Wildcats to the team title.

Benson was the cream of the crop on Saturday to start the 2014 season. The sophomore from Lenexa, Kan., broke the tape with a time of 15:28 over the 4K course to lead the field of 62 runners and help Baker to the team crown.

Baker will next compete on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Missouri Southern Stampede.
