[Women's Cross Country] Lady Builders Finish 3rd at Friends InvitationalPublished by
Wichita, Kan. - The Southwestern College women's cross country, who is receiving votes in the national pre-season poll, ran their second race of the 2011 season at the Wichita Wild Wind Cross Country Race hosted by Friends University this past Saturday. In the 5000M women's race, Southwestern College finished in third place out of 10 scoring teams. Southwestern was led by senior Jennifer Hendrixson (Sedgwick, KS) who ran a time of 19:44 which was good enough for a seventh place finish. Hendrixson was the only runner for SC to finish in the top 10. Two runners, freshman Briana Cathcart (Fort Collins, CO) 20:05 and Sydnee Nelson (Clay Center, KS) 20:29 finished inside of the top 20. Mallorie Coffman (Newton, KS) 21:00, Jacey Cullop (Sterling, KS) 21:39, Erica Dunigan (Hutchinson, KS) 22:27 and Rachel Busch (Leoti, KS) 22:30 rounded out the scoring members for the Lady Builders. The Southwestern College cross country team will be in action again this Saturday at the Missouri Southern Stampede.
