EL DORADO – It had been five races since the last time Kelsi Andrews had won, and for the caliber of runner that the Kapaun Mount Carmel sophomore is, that is a long time.

Andrews returned to her winning ways Saturday morning, covering 4 kilometers in 14 minutes, 59.66 seconds on the Bluestem Point course to win the El Dorado Invitational.

“I was really happy with my time and it gives me a lot of confidence,” said Andrews, who came on at the end of last season to win league and regional titles. “I’m really excited for City (League) next week. There are so many good runners, I’m just hoping I can do what I did last year and more.”
