Friends is proud to announce the impending signing of Sydney Roy, a female distance runner from Maize High School (Maize, KS) who will compete in spring 2014 in track & field and join the cross country team for the fall 2014 season. She will sign November 13th.

Roy has been an All-League and All-Region selection all three years of high school. She placed 22nd at the 6A cross country meets in both her sophomore and junior years. At state track, Roy was a member of the 6th place 4X800 relay team her freshman year, and placed 11th in the 3200m race as a junior.

Roy is the daughter of Bill & Gretchen Roy, and has twin sister, Shea. She will graduate from Maize High in December and enroll at Friends for the Spring 2014 semester. Roy is interested in Music Education and Spanish for degrees.
