Imagine your last high jump attempt of your high school career comes in front of the crowd at the largest high school track and field meet in the nation.

Then ratchet up the pressure with this: Clear a height in front of you that you never cleared before and you win a state championship … or miss and fall off the medal stand.

All of this was running through the head of East senior Brittan Richey on Friday before her do-or-die final attempt in the Class 6A high jump competition.
