Three Wildcats Earn Spot at Nationals

LAMONI, Iowa. – Three members of the Baker University women's cross country team earned a spot in the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship meet with solid performances at the 2012 Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship meet at Graceland University.

The Wildcats finished second in the meet to Central Methodist University but Lauren Jaqua earned her second straight HAAC Individual Championship and will travel to nationals along with teammates Lauren McBride and Kerry Kurta who finished 8th and 9th respectively.

Jaqua won the meet in a time of 18:11, while McBride ran the 5K in a time of 19:08 and Kurta finished in a mark of 19:20.

Megan Rosa and Jenna Stanbrough finished in the Top 30, as Rosa took home 13th-place in a time of 19:34, while Stanborugh took 30th in the meet with her time of 20:39.

Lindsey Brown took home 32nd and Dana Loveland ran the meet in a time of 21:55 good for 49th.

The Wildcats finished 30 points behind first-place Central Methodist with 62 total points and all seven runners for Baker finished in the Top 45.
