2012 Mule Relays

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Freshman Tyler Sloan led the way for the Baker women as she was named HAAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Monday afternoon.

Sloan, a Kansas City, Kan., native won a pair of events, taking first place in the 60-meter hurdles and the 400-meter relays. Ariella Harrison finished just eight points away from a national qualifying mark in the pentathlon, good enough for second with 2,992 points. Paige Rockers rounded out the women’s side with a second place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.52 meters, just 45 centimeters away from the national “B” standard.

Taylor Nall led the men’s squad with a sixth place finish in the mile run, finishing with a time of 4:27.40, just .09 shy of the national “B” qualifying standard.

The men’s distance medley also has its best showing of the season, grabbing a second place finish with a time of 10:48.37.

Baker will now have two weeks to prepare for the 2012 HAAC Indoor Championships, set to be held Feb. 17-18 on the campus of Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
