If Jennifer Laudick had her way, this Saturday would likely be an uneventful day for her daughter, Kapaun Mount Carmel freshman Kelsie Andrews.

Andrews surprised Laudick with a permission slip to sign in August to allow her to run for the cross country team. Laudick was not a fan of the new development.

“I didn’t want her to do it,” Laudick said. “All she talked about was soccer, soccer, soccer. I didn’t know how she was going to do it with soccer games and tournaments on the weekends. I was really against it.”
