Cross country notes: Cheney freshman Dylan Helten carries success forwardPublished by
Record-breaking isn’t exactly a new concept to Dylan Helten, even if he is just a freshman cross country runner at Cheney. He essentially rewrote the distance record books at Cheney middle school the last two years, so Cheney coach Rich Simmons knew what he was getting in Helten. Helten has delivered on that promise this season, as last week he became the Central Plains League champion by winning the race in a time of 18 minutes, 11 seconds.
