Baker Takes Second at ESU Invite

EMPORIA, Kan. – The Baker University women’s cross country team finished ahead of 16 other schools and took second-place at the ESU Planet Sub Invite on Friday evening.

The only team to finish ahead of the Wildcats was NCAA Division II Fort Hays State University. Lauren Jaqua ran the fastest time of any Wildcat with her fifth-place finish time of 18:28.

Three other Wildcats placed in the Top 20 including Ashley McBride with her 14th-place finish time of 19:15. Kerry Kurta ran the 5K in a time of 19:16 and 16th and Megan Rosa took home 19th-place in a time of 19:22.

Lindsay Brown took 31st and Jenna Stabrough finished 38th in a time of 20:06. Dana Loveland took 71st and helped anchor the Wildcats second-place finish.

Baker will next take on the Haskell Invite in Lawrence, Kan., on Saturday, Oct. 6.
