Baker Wins Haskell Invite

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Baker University women’s cross country team finished in first-place out of 12 teams and the men’s team took second out of nine teams to give Baker a 1-2 finish at the Haskeel Indian Nations University Invitational.

“We ran absolutely great this morning,” said Baker head cross country coach Zach Kindler. “Across the board we had a solid day and to be where we are as a team at this point in the season is very promising.”

Senior men’s cross country runner Aaron Caldwell broke his school record 8K time by 18 seconds on Saturday with his new Baker record time of 25:17 and finished in fourth-place.

Jeremy Bryan joined Caldwell in the Top 10 with a sixth-place finish and Eric Larson took home 15th-place in a time of 25:35.

As a team Baker finished just behind the University of St. Mary in the standings. The women’s squad finished ahead of 11 other schools.

Lauren Jaqua again led the way with her second-place finish time of 18:33. Kerry Kurta took home 11th and Ashley McBride finished right beside her in 12th. Megan Rosa cracked the Top 15 with her 15th-place finish time of 19:41
