The Baker women finished with 271 total points, ahead of CMU’s total of 217 points. The Baker men finished with 298 total points, outdistancing CMU’s 188.5 total.
Tyler Sloan led the Baker women taking home the gold in three events (100 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, and 100 meter dash). Sloan was also the anchor on the 4x400 meter relay team which took runner-up honors.
Katie Thurbon continued her dominance in the pole vault, taking home the gold with a mark of 3.50 meters. She currently ranks No. 1 nationally
Jeremy Gathright highlighted the men’s side taking home the gold medal in the 200 meter, 400 meter, long jump, triple jump, and also claimed victories in numerous relay teams in the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter races. With the performance, he was named the Most Valuable Athlete at the meet.
JL Anderson took home the gold in the 100 meter race with a time of 11:49, Joe Naughton won the hammer with a mark of 49.28 meters and Taylor Nall claimed the steeplechase crown with a time of 10:00.36.
Baker will now gear up for the 32nd Annual NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, set to take place May 24-26 on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
