The four Wildcats to qualify for nationals were Stephanie Nelson in the shot put with her mark of 12.66 meters in the shot put, also Taylor Nall qualified for nationals in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 2:32.20. The other two national qualifiers were Ariella Harrison in the 600-yard run in a time 1:28.23 and Tyler Sloan tore through the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.98 to qualify for nationals.
Sloan finished first in that 60-meter hurdle race and took fourth in the 300-meter dash in a time of 42.02.
Three other Wildcats competed in the 300 meter race, as Diamond Griffith took 14th and Jaime Patnode finished 15th and Callie Anderson took 19th.
Paige Rockers competed in the triple jump at KSU and finished fifth with a 10.58 jump. Valerie Schirmer joined Nelson in competing in the shot put and finished seventh with a throw of 11.67 meters. Schirmer also participated in the weight throw and took fifth with a throw of 12.45 meters.
In the men's 60-meter dash, Baker's Ki'anie Brooks performed well with his time of 7.29 and 19th-place finish and Andrew Heim ran the 600-yard race in a time of 1:18.78 and took home 12th-place.
The Wildcats Jeremy Gathright was a bright spot over the weekend in the long jump with his second-place finish jump of 6.70 meters. Brooks also competed in the long jump and took seventh with his jump of 6.20 meters.
