Nelson’s mark of 42.27 meters eclipsed the national “A” standard of 41.00 meters. Hannah Moore also highlighted the Baker women with a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles. Katie Thurbon already surpassed the national “A” standard in pole vault earlier this season.
Sophomore Megan Rosa didn’t compete in Pittsburg this past weekend, but she did however turn in the most impressive performance of the week at the A2A Race of Mercy Half Marathon on Ardmore, Okla.
Rosa dominated the women’s half marathon with a time of 1:29:20, out pacing the second place finisher by a whopping 11 minutes. With her performance, she surpassed the national “A” qualifying standard by four minutes.
On the men’s side, Jeremy Gathright improved his HAAC ranking in the 200 meter dash with a blazing time of 21.95, good enough for fifth place overall.
Aaron Caldwell set a personal record in the 1500 meter dash, finishing third with a time of 3:59.74, just two seconds off the national “B” standard qualifying mark of 3:57.00.
